Like the last few, I tried to do this in under an hour. But then a hummingbird catapulted himself into the window (same thing happened yesterday roflcopter) and we spent a while trying to bring the little guy to his senses. Here's a picture of him sitting on a pencil before he got a grip and flew away. So cute
After that, I forgot how to draw or something loool vacation you are good to me.
Crowfeather in the ~fiery sunset~ of Windclan moors or something. I looove this character
Crowfeather from Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Media: Corel Painter Essentials, Photoshop | 3 hours (frowning)
first of all, THIS IS SO FRIGGINTASTICALLY AMAZING!!!!!!! wow. just wow. You have made excellent texture, especially for the fur on the head, and the eyes are absolutely mesmerizing. seriously. i think they could hypnotize me right now. Huh, well there's not much to critic. Hmmm, well the sky behind Crowfeather is a bit blurry, and it would have been slightly more realistic to make them look more cloudy shaped. Right now it reminds me a bit of ocean waves. Also, like you have probably already been told the left ear is a bit too pink, especially in comparison with the right one (even if it is in shadow). also, although the anatomy is amazing the basic shape of Crowy's head is not as much like a cat than like a panther or lynx. I mean, the head looks slightly too big and stuff. To make it more cat-like it would be good to make his head more slender, and also to remove those eyebrow-looking things he has. and also change the nose's color otherwise it kind of blends in with the fur and makes it like a human nose. you could also make the nose a wee bit shorter. other than that, you could make the whiskers slightly less curved? either way, this is seriously amazing. the texture and the eyes and the light effects are your big talent. I can see emotion in those eyes. a kind of hard, cold expression. also, i think he has amber eyes but he does look better with blue. i noticed he has kind of eyeliner around his eyes? it might be more realistic if you don't do that. I dunno, this is just my opinion. i like writing critiques. Anyways, i really hope I helped, it was hard to find stuff to improve. this is really really awesome. Crowfeather, STOP STARING AT MEH! gives me the shivers
Exellent. The eyes are very pretty. I could NEVER get my cat eyes to look that way. It is very realistic. The left ear is a bit off, a little too pink at the top, black cats ears are black unless you are acctually looking into the ear. The sunset is great! It looks windy, which is also great. I greaty enjoy how you made the sunset reflecting in his fur. You added perfect amount of shadows and shading to make his appearance amazing. It is much better then anything i could EVER do. Just beautiful, really, really beautiful. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the comment! This is an interesting question because I know what you're talking about but I'm not completely sure how to answer, haha. I don't feel like I've perfected anything, though I was sorting old drawings last month and I noticed a couple jumps in skill and technique, but it was gradual over a few months. I've been drawing for 12 years, so everything I know now is from drawing (practicing), observing, and studying all that time. I think if artists experiment and practice and have fun and are receptive, eventually they're reach that higher level without realising it.
You're welcome! Makes sense, haha. I'm sort of new with my new style of drawing, since my other style is.. eh. But same here, I've noticed many improvements in my more recent creations than before, so I just try to add to it. Thank you so much, I hope I wasn't much of a bother.
Sorry for the slow - just got home. No bother at all! That question really gave me something to think about, which was fun. Good luck in your art endeavours!
