I made a manticore for the final ceramics project. Never finished for the end of the semester, but I'm painting him anyway.
I drew him again on the back of some crappy Government project folder. He's pretty. I love him always.
Yes, I know the anatomy is disgusting. If I were him, I'd kill me. If I survive, I'll learn how to draw. Pretty quick also - didn't expect it to come out as good as it did. ><

This is a great manticore pic. The eyes especially strike a chord with me. I thoroughly like the fact that they are black deep and pitiless like a shark's eyes. But then, manticores are rapacious predators much like sharks.
Couple those eyes with that smug half smile, and you've got a winning evil beast there.
