Young Bramblepaw takes his sweet little mousy to the fresh kill pile to feed the decrepit elders. He will become a gud warrior I just no it
~
This is a WIP and I can't decide if it's very good or not (critiques encouraged!). I wanted to animate more kitties and I picked Brambley because I did Tigerstar here [link] and I wanted to use the same palette but change the markings. They aren't working on the hind leg though so I need to fix this.
Was going to be "trotting" but I couldn't find reference and then I realised cats don't do that. I'll have to animate a dog next and try again. For some reason I drew every frame (16) and rendered it at 18 fps (why??).
Will scrap once I upload the next part, which won't be an unending loop. WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT... DUN DUN DUN
Bramblepaw in his apprentice days ~ from Warriors series by Erin Hunter
This is amazing. Really one of the best animations i have seen here since i joined. I love the look on his face! so cute and determined! You did really well with the body angles and the movement.
(You wouldn't happen to have cats of your own to go by would you?)
The only real thing that doesn't seem to fit is how jerky his movements are. A cat has this graceful gate and Brablepaw's legs seem very jerky for a cats walk. His tail might have a bit more movement if he was relaxed, his tail at the moment is more like he is being challenged for the mouse or he just walked out of a fight.
But otherwise you have amazing skills and i can't wait to see more from you in the future.
First of all, I just want to comment on how good your animation skills and movement judgements are. I mean, seriously, give yourself some credit, this is really phenomenal. The movement of the forelegs and the chest are probably the best part of this. I would say to probably add more wave to the tail...I can't really picture a cat walking with his tail so stiff and only the tip twitching. Also, for some reason, it seems as if something about the walk isn't quite right. Perhaps you could have added a little bit more movement to the mid-body section of the cat? Ugh, I can't quite put my finger on it. But ANYWHO, this is truly amazing! I can't wait to see more from you!
