Smiling Alone

Oh. My. GOD.

I wanted a kinda abstract look to it, so it's not really how well or detailed the drawing itself is, it's the mood to it and meaning behind it.

I went through all my CDs and listened to the slow, emotional songs. Multiple times. *Death* I listened to Memory on my Cats CD maybe 6 times.. and it definitely stuck. One of the verses is: "Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone." So I decided to make him smiling, and make it so the moonlight is flooding through the window (which you can't see, but there's my attempt at drawing curtains).

For the pose, I got the idea when I was sitting on the floor watching [I think] Mystery Hunters with Amanda, my sister. She thinks it's the most painful position I ever forced her to sit in, but I think it's quite comfy.
I actually had to sit on the counter in the bathroom and draw myself, then I made Amanda do it because I couldn't remember how the foot and hand went. I think she hates me now. :E

So it was actually really easy to draw and ink. That probably took 3 1/2 hours in total. But the colouring.. ugh.

I got Prismacolour pencils(!!!!1) probably 50% for this pic. XD; And I'm very glad I did! The pants were the first thing I coloured, and MAN DID THEY COME OUT AWESOME! After that.. meh. It's okay, but not the greatest.

Anyway, I gave this pic everything I had, so I have no regrets at all (*forbid them XD*).

Prismacolour Pencils, black ink, colourless blender (pencil), and Crayola coloured pencils for the eyes.
